bombs on Gaza

As one can read in the German intelligence, was killed today in an attack on Gaza at least 195 Palestinians and over 200 injured.
If the comment of the Federal Government to do is, is that Israel has the right to Selbstverteidung and just maybe could take a bit more consideration for civilians and Steinmeier then gives of himself: "For the one-sided Abrogation of the ceasefire with Israel by Hamas lacks the Federal Government of any understanding "( each source ), is in my opinion, shameful in the light of German history and contrary to human rights. For if all men are the same value and the right have on life may not be the collective punishment of 1.5 million people who starve and freeze to which are locked and have no access to medical care, be tolerated. Then we must not talk of a ceasefire with the Palestinians, because it was only Gaza is no longer occupied but besieged. In the West Bank, Israel is still occupying forces and settlers.
course, the Qassam rockets bad.
But not proportionate.
By 5000 Qassams have been killed since 2004, a total of 16 Israelis. (Source: Jewish Voice for Peace) by 30 Israeli rockets today alone at least 195 Palestinians have been killed.
I will in no way justify the violence of Hamas' Brigades, Islamic Jihad, etc., or defend. But the continued oppression of the Palestinians makes it easy to understand.
makes very angry with me and the very uneven coverage in the German media. You simply can not speak of a unilateral breach of the ceasefire. Even if the blockade of Gaza ignores been crumbling since the cease-fire turned 5 Palestinians and an Israeli is killed.
Anyone interested in the conflict can be read as an alternative or in addition to the German media Al Jazeera and Haaretz , there we have both Arabic and be connected directly NEN Jewish impression of events. (Although in English)

Christmas

Maya flew home for Christmas. The rest of us, so Marvin, Sebastian, Sonia and I were of 24 to 25 in Bethlehem. After hitchhiking
Latrun Jerusalem, Arab Jerusalem bus checkpoint, and taxi-Bethlehem checkpoint, we were so against 2 clock in front of the Bethlehem Church of Nativity.
In the city it was quite full, German media have reported about 30,000 people. I think that even for a little exaggerated, but it was busy, there were many marches through the city with music and there was a stage in front of the Church of the Nativity.

was said to probably the Palestinian Prime Minister Abbas because we have not seen him.
We then went through a bit of Bethlehem and have eaten falafel, Sonia was also not yet been there.
was planned that we stay in Thalita Kumi, that is in Bet Jala, about 15 minutes by bus from Bethlehem. There, we went out to bring us the keys to our room. We had 22 still without a problem get bed and breakfast for 10 € per person.

are then we moved back to Bethlehem. The evening was played on stage in front of the Church of the Nativity English music and it was good, lively atmosphere, not so contemplative, typical Christmas knows how to do that from Germany.

standard temperature was already more German, though perhaps not quite warm compared to German, for us, really cold, the coldest I've experienced here so far, so about 8 degrees.

Later that evening, we simply by (audacious) ask succeeded to the roof to come from City Hall. The roof is opposite of the Nativity Church and there really was only the press and the police are located.
The beer tasted especially good from up there.
Anyway, we had good views and NEN ne good view of the Church of the Nativity.

then we are driven back to Thalita Kumi. The next morning we attended a church service in the Catholic part of the Church of the Nativity, as we were unfortunately too late for the Gospel.
Because of the rain that began overnight, relatively strong, we drove with NEM detour through the old city of Jerusalem home.
evening is Marvin's friend arrived and we together have eaten homemade pizza and chocolate fondue.

Ideas For Bicycle Birthday Cakes

december 18th

Last Thursday we were on the demo of the december18th action, which I have not written here, too.

total of 22,000 signatures have come together, and about 17,000 of the letters were at the demonstration in front of the Defence Ministry tried to deliver.

The soldiers at the gate refused to accept the letter and not after prolonged Talkshow the letters were then stopped in front of goal.

It is indeed sad to see that the Verteidungsminister of Israel or its officers do not even Accept letters of complaint, but at least it was reported in the Israeli news of the action. (Even if only slightly and only in "left" messages)

Bethlehem Tel Aviv

On Saturday we go to Bethlehem for the Christmas market, which was unfortunately not taken (we were there somehow misinformed, who was only on the first Sunday of Advent).
At least Marvin has yet immortalized on the wall:

From Bethlehem we went to Jerusalem and from there to private bus with NEM Tel Aviv. The bus was from Peace Now and we were at a demonstration against the settler violence in Hebron. The largest demonstration in Israel where I was before (not only Israel Palestine), so about 250 people, I'd appreciate.

Growth Behind The Eye, Symptoms

Fw: What they mean to me and my son.

From a New Profile (http://www.newprofile.org/default.asp?language=en, an Israeli peace movement) newsletter, a letter from Yuval mother (unfortunately only in English).

A note from Ayelet Ophir-Auron,
mother of jailed Shminist Yuval
Ophir-Auron .

Dear Dorothy,

It's hard to believe that people all around the world are learning about my 19-year-old son Yuval. I know that I'm proud of him. I just never expected the world to be proud of him. I can't thank you strongly enough for your words of support for Yuval and his fellow activists and friends.

As I write this, Yuval's in jail, serving his second term. We don't know how or when this will end.

When Yuval was 9 years old he met Palestinians for the first time while we were visiting them after being liberated from jail as administrative detainees. I think this was probably the first time something in his naïve conception about good and bad was broken and he began to ask questions.

It's hard to be a mother of a kid like this. I want him to be enjoying his teenage years. I want him to benefit from the fruits of my and Yuval's father's labor, and I want him to live in a world where he doesn't have to serve in a military that occupies another people. I am sad that I haven't been able to create that world for him. But I am proud that he's trying to create it for himself.

Here's why it matters that the rest of the world is paying attention to Yuval, Raz, and the other Shministim.

The Israeli government would like nothing better than to believe that everyone in the world supports Israel unconditionally. Hell, even people in Israel don't unconditionally support it.

The sad fact is that the occupation is destroying us all- Israelis and Palestinians alike. Supporting the Shministim is a way to do your part to end the occupation and bring comfort and well-being to our peoples.

Like you, I sent a letter. Now I want you to tell everyone you know about the Shministim.

Please click on this tell-a-friend link now and spread the word.
Your support means so much to my son and his friends, to me, to all of us who want and deserve a real future in this part of the world.

Thank you,

Ayelet Ophir-Auron
